Heal Sh*t Podcast
Helping you heal your sh*t so you can live your best life. That’s what this podcast is about.
Heal Sh*t podcast (HSP) was originally created in 2020 starring hosts Tiffany Ellis and Shanta Jackson, The Homegirl Therapist. In 2021, the podcast welcomed guest co-host, Jennifer Logan, and the season was entitled Healing My High School Self. Season 2 featured the Ladies of Unity and discussed all things life, love and relationship from the high school perspective.
Tiffany attempted to host Season 3 solo as Jennifer battled Stage 4 cancer while simultaneously launching her cold pressed juice company, G Ann’s. After losing Jennifer and taking time to heal her sh*t, she’s back with Season 4- Learning to LOve.
This season will cover life (lately) and how Tiffany is learning to love the journey. We’ll talk all things health, wealth, life, love and of course healing. Epidodes will drop bi-weekly and you’ll get to hear from a wide range of guests who are ready and willing to keep things real, raw and organic.
Let’s get ready to heal some sh*t.
Heal Sh*t Podcast
Absent Parent, Present Pain (Audio only)
Greetings family!
Today's episode is the first installment of the new series on parent-child relationships for Season 2- Healing My High School Self.
In this episode, Tiffany chats with Jen about the impact of having a semi-present/absent parent and what that experience felt like for her as a teenage girl. She unpacks a little bit about the daddy issues she had early on and how they were able to heal a lot of that and build a beautiful father-daughter relationship.
Although Tiffany's story may sound unique, research shows just under 50% of Black children under the age of 18 are being raised by a single mother in the U.S. This can sometimes lead to a lack in available financial resources, less quality time and care as well as future risk for socioeconomic losses/instability. Not to mention the social and emotional impact having one parent can have on children and how this might cause children to show up in different areas of their lives. This is part of the reason we've chosen to shed light on the situation.
